General Facility Information

The Pennington County Jail is an indirect supervision facility housing both sentenced and pretrial adult male and female offenders. The facility is licensed by the State of Minnesota to house up to 92 inmates, separated into 7 housing units.

Each housing unit contains video visitation, telephones, a common television, gaming and dining tables and natural lighting source.

The Mission of Pennington County Corrections is to provide a safe, secure, and humane environment for inmates, staff and public while offering opportunities for inmates to improve themselves.

Inmates are required to wear non-implantable devices at all times. Any incident of non-compliance will not be tolerated. Inmates will be subject to fines and disciplinary action, including prosecution.
 
All systems and devices using RFID technology are designed, tested, and manufactured to comply with Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations. RF energy levels generated are similar to those found in consumer electronics. Inmate-worn devices are hypoallergenic. RF-based inmate identification is the exclusive property of Pennington County.
