On September 8th, 2022, the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office received numerous 911 calls reporting an apparent explosion at a mobile home just outside Thief River Falls. The Thief River Falls Fire Department responded to the scene and was assisted by the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office, Thief River Falls EMS, and the Thief River Falls Police Department.

No injuries were reported at this time and no further information will be released. The apparent explosion is being investigated by the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office.

The Pennington County Sheriff’s Office was called out to a residence in Cloverleaf Township on the evening of August 2, 2022 responding to an individual going through a mental health crisis.
 
Deputies with the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office and officers with the Thief River Falls Police Department were able to clear the area of innocent bystanders and negotiate with the individual ending the situation peacefully. The individual was later transported to an appropriate facility.
 
The Pennington County Sheriff’s Office and Thief River Falls Police Department was assisted by the Minnesota State Patrol.

SUSPECT APPREHENDED IN PENNINGTON COUNTY HOMICIDE

Eric Reinbold located after appearing on a law enforcement trail camera

Eric Reinbold, the man sought in the July 9 murder of his wife Lissette Reinbold of Oklee, Minn., was apprehended early this morning in Red Lake County.

Shortly after 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, agents were alerted to movement in front of a trail camera that had been set up in a wooded area off of County Road 1 not far from Reinbold’s parent’s property. This area had been searched by law enforcement in the days following his disappearance.

This update is to provide an update on the search for Eric Reinbold.

The Pennington County Sheriff’s Office, along with state and federal law enforcement agencies, continue in the search for Eric James Reinbold, the primary suspect in the July 9 murder of his wife, Lissette Reinbold.

The Pennington County Sheriff’s Office still believes Mr. Reinbold is in the area and is on foot. We have not received any information to believe that he has gained any form of transportation.

Investigators have received dozens of tips from the public and are following up on all of those leads. We continue to ask anyone with information about the murder of Lissette Reinbold or the whereabouts of Eric Reinbold to call 911, the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office at 218-681-6161 or the U.S. Marshals at 1-877-WANTED.
